The Last Song

The Last Song is the latest of novels by Nicholas Sparks to be adapted to the silver screen. It tells the story of rebellious Ronnie Miller, who is sent to stay with her estranged father for the summer along with her younger brother Jonah. During her stay she runs into Will Blakelee, who despite the someone rocky beginning, finds his way into Ronnie's heart. Now while the romance in this movie is of great focus the real relationship is with Ronnie and her father and ultimately Ronnie and herself. Can Ronnie forgo her feelings of abandonment enough to reconnect with her father with whom she shared a great passion of music? You will have to see the movie.

The overall lesson I got from the movie was that no matter what hardships you may face, it is important to remember what you love. Because what you love is who you are and without it you are lost.

Overall this movie may not have had any Oscar worthy performances but it focused on a beautiful story and a lesson we all can relate to. If you have interest in seeing this film, you most likely will not be disappointed. However I do not recommend it for those who had no interest to begin with, I'm sure there is something you would enjoy more. Head's up: Bring tissues!!!! This is a tear-jerker!

How To Train Your Dragon

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is just that, a hiccup on his family lineage. The story takes place in the village of Berk where slaying dragons isn't just a means of pest control, its a way of life. But for Hiccup, slaying dragons doesn't come as naturally as it does for the rest of his Viking peers. Instead of slaying, Hiccup takes the time to learn about the mysterious and misunderstood creatures that have been targeted for generations, unlocking secrets that have prevented co-habitation.

How To Train Your Dragon is a beautiful story about being yourself, despite the hardships you face from not fitting in. It is a story about never muffling your innovation or stifling you curiosity. But most of all, its a story of how one boy, no matter how small can be the key to peace, if only we are wiling to let him try. Never judge a book by its cover and always give people a chance.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was moving and humorous and everything I ask for when seeing a movie. It took me into the story and left me wondering when I left. I went in with high expectations and it met every one. So with that, I rate this movie extremely high and highly recommend IMAX 3D. You will leave this theater with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart, no matter any age. =]

Repomen

A very ingenious cautionary tale about the lives of people and how what you do, does indeed define who you are. Repomen takes place in the near future. Its focus on those men, who after the the purchase of new organs, when payments can no longer be made, stalk their prey and repossess the rightful property of "The Union".

While it had a promising plot, Repomen did indeed lack in certain areas. It at times seemed very slow and in my opinion, lacked serious character development. Just as we began to delve deep into a character, the plot would shift to something. For some reason, i left the theater thinking "I don't buy this."

However, despite those not so hot points, I did really enjoy this movie. It brought me everything I wanted. Barely exceeding my expectations, the ending was rather good. And for those who find the chance of gore in movies as a turn off, it was presented somewhat tastefully. Jude Law was great in his portrayal of Remy and might I add very nice to look at. (Ladies let me tell you now there are several shirtless scenes.)

Sherlock Holmes

Everything I expected. Downey is incredible, he was born to play Holmes.

All supporting cast members did an equally good job bringing to life the characters of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

If you want to see a great movie with adventure and action and witty dialogue, you will not go wrong with Sherlock Holmes.

It's Complicated.

The cast alone explains it all. This movie has very hysterical moments.

If you are looking for a comedy with a so so plot, its worth a shot.

For me John Krasinski stole the movie with his perfect comedic timing.

Everybody's Fine.

Ok. let me just state that is you are expecting a feel good holiday film... you are completely wrong. This movie was depressing.

It follows the story of a family who is serious denial and neglect to included their father into their lives for fear of disappointment.
For such an amazing cast, I must say I was not impressed. However my tear ducts got excellent exercise.

Overall Rating: Don't bother.

The Princess and the Frog

This movie is absolutely fantastic. Beautiful in every aspect, I left the theater with the biggest smile on my face and the warmest feeling in my heart. But let's face it, as one of the biggest Disney fans alive, I expected nothing less. This movie was superb. I recommend it for anyone who loves a story that preaches the lesson we all need to take to heart: With a little hard work, all your dreams can come true. I GIVE THIS TWO ENTHUSIASTIC THUMBS UP!!!

Brothers

This was an excellent movie. The acting was superb.

Tobey Maguire was excellent in one of the best showcases of his theatrical ability to date. This movie was touching and heart-wrenching. It portrayed the toll war has on a family most beautifully. I left the theater feeling imersed in sorrow for the trials they had gone through. Overall this was an excellent film.

While it could seem a little slow at times it picks up and takes you on a journey into the lives of this family.

The Blind Side

This movie is amazing! It is filled with emotion and inspiration. By far the most touching film i have seen all year!
Sandra Bullock is extraordinary in what I believe to be her best performance in years! This cast went together flawlessly, I really believed they were a family.
This movie had me shouting and clapping and crying, every moment evoked emotion.

For those of us who love a genuine uplifting story, you can not go wrong with the blind side.

The Fourth Kind

I appologize now because this review is gonna be skimpy.

A very original movie. Great ingenuity. I very much enjoyed the split screen form of filming. It heightened the tension. The plot was thorough and interesting. And even the credits showed creativity. My friends and Iremained in the theater until all accounts were over.

This movie did what it needed to. I f you enjoy movies that make you wonder...is there something else out there? I highly recommend this film.

Saw VI

I am certainly not an expert on the Saw series, being that this was my first one everrr, but wow!!!!! This movie was awesomeeeeeee! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and actually bitting my nails. It was filled with plot twists and had an extremely interesting plot. This was possibly the best movie I have seen all month!

The tasks our main man was put through were siiick!(especially the merry go round one, omggg)I never once wondered when this movie would end, it was totally fulfilling. After seeing this movie I have every intention to watch every one of its predecessors.

Obviously I'm not going to spill anything so let me leave you with this...

One word to describe this movie: INTENSEEEEE!

Paranormal activity.

Wow. Scariest movie of our time: not so much. While it was suspenseful and creative in the matter of filming, I in no way found this movie scary simply because of its lack of surprise. This movie was filled with scary movie cliches down to the final moments of the film. The entire film was completely predictable and the movie only became scary in the last 25 mins or so. The only surprising fact for me was that the paranormal activity was due to a demon not a ghost.

I would call this film a modern exorcist/poltergeist hybrid.

If you are looking for a movie that is filled with surprise moments enough to make you scream but not be fully scared this is the one.

It was an interesting movie but the effects would be scarier at home in the dark.
